Foot Reflexology Course

£245.00

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that encourages the body to balance and heal itself. It involves applying finger or thumb pressure to specific points on the hands and feet. These points are called reflexes and they reflect, or mirror, the organs and structures of the body as well as a person’s emotional health. In this way, the hands and feet are mini maps or microcosms of the body that can be used to encourage holistic healing.

This course will teach you everything you need to know in order to carry out a professional reflexology treatment. The theory is completed online at home in your own time before a practical training session is taken at a location of your choice. This means that our Reflexology Course gives you flexible learning designed to fit in around your lifestyle. Full tutorial support is available throughout your learning experience. Our Foot Reflexology course covers all the necessary anatomy and physiology which you will need to know in order to perform a reflexology treatment and so you do not need to hold a separate anatomy and physiology qualification.

The course also covers reception and consultation, the history and theories of reflexology, contra-indications to treatment and aftercare advice.

What This Course Covers:

  • Health, safety & hygiene
  • Consultation techniques
  • Contraindications
  • Theory related to reflexology
  • Performing treatment
  • Aftercare advice

Course Structure

This course is structured over one day and runs from 10am – 4pm. We ask students to arrive at 9.45am to ensure a prompt start. You will learn the theory of the treatment firstly, and spend the majority of the day practising your practical skills, with a short break for lunch.

Course Benefits

Reflexology is a treatment based on the principle that there are areas and points on the feet, hands, and ears that are connected through the nervous system to corresponding parts of the body. When pressure is applied to these areas and points it stimulates the movement of energy along the nerve channels and helps to restore homeostasis balance in the body.

There are approximately 7,000 nerve endings in the human foot and each of them are a reflex point that corresponds to a body part. Reflexologists use special finger and thumb manipulations to stimulate these reflex points and they know exactly which area of the foot corresponds to which body part by learning the following Reflexology chart.
